Alison Cuthbert MA Psychology (Edinburgh)

Alison is an experienced Cognitive Behavioural Therapist who works with children, adolescents, and adults. She has an MA in Psychology from the University of Edinburgh and has a Post Graduate Diploma in CBT from the University of Hertfordshire.

Alison uses CBT to treat a variety of mental health issues, including anxiety disorders, depression, work-related stress, as well as helping clients to resolve relationship issues, improve their self-esteem and self-confidence. She has particular interest in working with disordered eating and OCD.

Alison also works with business men and women, including CEOs and directors, helping them to achieve their professional goals.

She has an integrative approach to therapy and will draw upon other modalities when appropriate.  These include ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT). 

Alison is a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Hertfordshire, teaching CBT at Post Graduate level. She is married with four grown up children and prior to working as a CBT therapist, she worked in Investment Banking, Executive Search and Retail.
